TechStudents.net scholarship program has been established to provide scholarships to current tech savvy college students (with a social security number) earning a degree in a technology related field including but not limited to computer science, information technology, graphic and web design and information systems. 

Who is Eligible?

Applicants earning a degree in a technology related field should be attending one of the following: 

• Vocational technical School
• Community College
• Four-year college
• Graduate school

TechStudents.net scholarship program will offer two $500 scholarships with one of them dedicated to Hurricane Katrina and Rita victims.  Recipients will be selected by the TechStudents.net scholarship board.  Scholarships will be awarded based on creativity, content and usability of the submitted application.  Financial need will not be a consideration.

Institutions must be accredited degree-granting four-year college or university, two-year community college, vocational-technical institute or graduate school.

The scholarship may be applied to payment of tuition, room, board and other educational expenses such as books and fees etc. as approved by TechStudents.net.  The monies will be paid directly to the eligible educational institution by CSP on behalf of TechStudents.net at the beginning of the academic year.

How to Apply:

In a Microsoft Word document, you must provide the following information in the beginning of your essay response: (see example)

Name, Street Address, City/State/Zip, Phone Number, Email Address, College/University/Tech School, School Web Site, Level of Education, Graduation Year, Degree, Certifications, Employment, Hurricane Victim (yes or no) and Topic from list outlines in the essay section.

Technology students should complete a profile to gain additional opportunities.

Send an electronic copy to info@techstudents.net titled Tech Scholarship.  Applications must be received by Jan. 13, 2006. 

Essay:

Please write an informational essay for entrepreneurs and small businesses that addresses one of the following topics:

• E-commerce
• Wireless Networks
• Wireless Applications
• Marketing & the Internet  (example e-newsletter)
• Virtual Networks
• Most effective Websites for Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses 

Be sure to provide effective advice.  Some idea could be displayed in how-to-guide, tips for businesses, a checklist for selecting technology or any other creative technology advice related to the topics above.

Essays can be short or long but no longer than 3 pages in Arial 11 pt .

Scholarship winners will announced on or before Feb. 17, 2006.  Winner’s essay will be posted for all to learn from on TechStudents.net.
